In the ancient Greek myth, Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos of Crete, falls in love with Theseus, a visiting prince and helps him escape the Minotaur by giving him a golden thread to use to find his way out of the labyrinth. Her golden thread is her trail of devotion and guidance in the dark.
